RECENT NOTABLE CASES
In a recent jury trial Mike was co-counsel with Geoff Adair in which they acted for two plaintiffs, a husband and wife, who had suffered serious orthopedic injuries in a motorcycle accident. The trial took approximately 3 weeks. The jury awarded over $1,200,000 to the plaintiffs. The plaintiffs substantially exceeded their offer to settle and are accordingly likely to be awarded costs on a substantial indemnity basis.”

In a recent jury trial Mike was successful in obtaining a jury verdict of $5.3 Million on behalf of a pedestrian who was struck by a car, after the car was hit from behind by a truck. Mike was able to convince the jury that the car which had been stopped and was waiting to make a turn was 20% at fault and the truck was 80% at fault. This is one of the few cases in Canada where a rear ended vehicle was found at fault.
