John joined Adair Morse as an associate in 2009. John previously worked for several years at another litigation boutique in Toronto. He completed his articles as a clerk to the Justices of the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
John’s practice is primarily acting for individuals and corporations in commercial litigation matters. John also represents plaintiffs and defendants in insurance matters. John has appeared as lead counsel in several trials and appeals. John’s recent trial work includes successfully acting for a real estate developer in a claim against a former senior executive who defrauded the developer out of approximately $1,000,000. John’s recent appeal work includes a successful appeal that set a precedent with respect to the interpretation of a statute relating to municipal liability. |

John is a member of the Advocates’ Society. He previously served for 2 years on the Young Advocates’ Committee, a standing committee of the Advocates’ Society. John has also participated as a lecturer in legal ethics at the Bridge Week program at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.
John has spoken at various professional development conferences on current topics in negligence law. |

John has acted as pro bono counsel on appeal through Pro Bono Law Ontario. He has also provided pro bono legal assistance to university students involved in misconduct matters.
John has also previously acted as a volunteer hockey coach, baseball coach, and as a swim instructor at the Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Centre. |
