Practice  
Geoff Adair conducts a trial and appellate advocacy practice in the field of civil litigation. Named as one of Canada’s 500 leading lawyers by Lexpert® and elected Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTLA), he has acted as lead counsel in over 250 jury and non-jury trials in Ontario and has argued in excess of 100 cases before the Ontario Court of Appeal. Many of these cases have been reported in official law reports.

Geoff’s practice areas include major tort and property damage litigation, commercial insurance litigation matters, professional (including medical) negligence claims, product liability matters, corporate/commercial litigation, as well as libel & slander, directors’ and officers’ claims and actions for and against insurers.
 
 
On Trial & Other Publications  
Drawing upon his litigation and trial experience, Geoff published the first edition of On Trial in 1992 to assist students and members of the legal community prepare for and conduct trials. Now in its second edition, On Trial (Butterworths, 2004) continues to be an invaluable resource for all levels of litigators, judges and students alike. In addition to this text, Geoff has authored numerous publications on many legal topics.  
 
Professional Involvement  
The Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Advocates Society and numerous other private institutes regularly invite Geoff to address his peers on emerging legal trends and to share his extensive experience as a trial and appellate counsel. He has also lectured to the Ontario Bar Admissions Course and instructed at the Osgoode Hall Intensive Advocacy Program.

Geoff is a member of the Advocates’ Society, the Defence Research Institute, the Canadian Defence Lawyers organization, the Canadian Bar Association and the Medico-Legal Society. He also acted as Chairman of the CBAO Civil Litigation Section for two years.
